For those of you who are new to the comment showdown, we’ll break it down for you. Auto-generated comments go head to head against our handwritten comments and then based on the score we give at the end, we see who wins the battle. Who will win this week? Human or robot? Only time will tell.

This week is yet another service that provides auto-generated comments as a secondary option. Seems to be a theme, don’t you agree? The majority of services we have competed against in our head to head showdowns are providing the generator in addition to their primary service of inventory management.

This week we picked a 2011 Jeep Compass. Nothing too fancy, we picked the base trim level this week to showcase how well our handwritten comments will work against the wimpy competition. So here is the description that this auto-generator gave us.

It mentions “Jeep” and “Compass” a whole two times in those five sentences. If only there were something about the comment to compel me to buy it other than knowing it is equipped and roomy.

Now, when I think of a car comment that describes the car, the one written by a human wins. Our custom comment shows in 13 sentences (not that I counted) how the car runs, what is inside the car to make your life a little easier, and what it is equipped with to ensure the safety of those inside. Since we have gone head to head with the robot, it is time for the grading portion of our post.

As you can see clearly from the chart above, Dealer Assist Now was able to answer “Yes” to all ten categories while The Other Guys only answered “Yes” to only three categories. The difference is astounding in this example. While this comment robot tried its best, it failed to bring the relevant details to light. Our writers know exactly what to mention in a car description because all of us have cars and know what we like about them.
