It’s Monday again, and you know what that means! It’s time for our weekly Comment Showdown. We get together every week and place a human against a robot to see which one can make your inventory sound its best! Will the auto-generated comment beat the handwritten, custom comment? Only time will tell.
If you’d like to read the previous four weeks of our Comment Showdown, you can read them here. This week, we have a service that claims to do it all. Auto leads, auto remarketing, auto-generated comments, SEO services, etc. Let’s dive right into what a sample looks like of their auto-generated car comments. Below is the description for a 2006 Ford F-150 XLT.
10 year old car for about ½ the price of new. BAM! We bring it with this hottie patottie 2006 Ford F-150 with features that include your drive feeling much more comfortable with the Tilt-Wheel, an included Anti-Theft System to lower your insurance rates, and an Auxiliary Power Outlet. The list goes on… Power Steering so you can squeeze easily into tight parking spots, uncompromising safety with the Driver Air Bag, and passengers riding with peace of mind with the Passenger Air Bag.
This comment is, interesting, to say the least. The sentences flow together, although the highlighted features that the robot chose to accentuate are anything less than appealing. Then, there is the use of “hottie patottie” which is tawdry, at best. Now, let’s take a look at one of our custom comments written by one of our Territory Managers.
Our One Owner 2006 Ford F-150 XLT Super Cab 4×4 can be classified as one of the Ford Tough truck members. When comparing the two car descriptions, it is evident that the handwritten comment races ahead of the auto-generated description by miles. The custom vehicle comment describes the car in detail, and you get a picture of the truck without even needing to look at the dealership photos. While the robot description seems handwritten at first glance, it is, of course, robotic once you see the one written by a human.
Now that Dealer Assist Now has gone head to head with a robot, it is time to grade our work.
As shown in the chart above, Dealer Assist Now answered “yes” for each of the ten categories. While The Other Guys answered “Yes” to only two categories.
Now that we’ve pitted a robot against a human, you have seen that the difference is in the details. An auto-generated comment may seem like a good idea to cut corners and save money, but when placed against a handwritten, custom comment from Dealer Assist Now, you can see that humans are clearly better than robots. Remember to join us every Monday for our Comment Showdown, if you still aren’t convinced.
